The ECMA 262 standard defines the requirements for languages similar to JavaScript or JScript. The blackj.dll library is targeted to Windows programmers and developers who want to add scripting capabilities to their software easily and fast. The blackj.dll library is written in highly portable ANSI C code and it is distributed in the form of a dll. It can be used from any compiler/language that supports dlls such as C/C++, Delphi and others. The BlackJ library was written by having three main goals in mind: Efficiency and low memory usage Standards Compliance (certain features have not been implemented) Easy integration - extension in a host environment Here are some of the things you can do by using the API: Execute a script which resides in a text file by providing just the path Execute a script by providing its source from a char* string. Call a function implemented in a previously loaded script and get a result Make a function implemented in your host environment available/accessible to scripts Return an array or object from a function in the host environment to the script code and vice versa Read/Delete any global property or the property of a global object ... and many more.
